Description:
BAUER, a world leader in the field of high pressure compressor systems, is in search of a full-time Mechanical Assembler to join its Norfolk, VA based manufacturing facility. This position performs mechanical assembly operations to produce compressors and other subassemblies at required quality standards while achieving maximum efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.

• Custom bend stainless steel tubing following blueprints
• Communicate effectively to the immediate supervisor the status of needed parts to produce units
• Install and align compressor and motor.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Read and interpret all measuring devises needed for assembly
• Ability to read blueprints and operate hand and power tools
• Ability to operate an overhead or jib crane
• Ability to follow directions and be able to work independently
• Must be fluent in English and is able to communicate with others effectively
• Ability and willingness to work in a constantly changing environment
• Has a working knowledge of Workmanship Standards as well as the ISO quality system. Utilizes these practices in their everyday activity

Work Environment:

Normal hours are from 6:00am to 4:30pm Monday thru Thursday. Smoking is allowed in some designated areas. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dba .The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance with lifting.
